How to Write a Coach Profile That Converts on MyCoach

Most coaches spend years building their skills and about twenty minutes writing the profile that decides whether anyone books them.

MyCoach is a marketplace platform where clients across Dubai browse and contact coaches directly. Your profile is what they see first — and on a marketplace, it does the job a first consultation used to do. Someone lands on it, spends forty seconds, and decides whether to enquire or scroll on.

None of what follows is required to list on MyCoach. But complete profiles rank better in search engines, and profile quality is likely to factor into how listings are ordered on the platform in future. The coaches who get ahead of that will be the ones already doing it.

Upload at least eight photos

One photo is a placeholder. Eight is a profile. Clients are trying to picture themselves training with you, and a single headshot doesn't give them enough.

Cover different ground with each one:

  • A clear solo headshot
  • You coaching a client mid-session
  • The gym or studio, from outside
  • The training floor and equipment you use
  • A second setting: outdoors, at home, poolside
  • Your specialism in action
  • Client results, with permission
  • Certificates or competition photos
  • Natural light, shot in the last year, sharp enough to view full screen. Avoid heavy filters, mirror selfies, and group shots where nobody can tell which one is you.

Write a title that earns the click

- "Personal Trainer in Dubai" says nothing the listings above and below it don't already say. A good title names your specialism, your client, or a reason to act now.

- Personal Trainer — Dubai

- Strength Coach for Busy Professionals — Dubai Marina

- Strength Coach, Dubai Marina — First Session Free

Incentives work and needn't cost much: a free assessment, a discount on a block of ten, a bring-a-friend rate, nutrition included with a package. Put the offer in the title, repeat it at the end of your description, and honour it. An offer you don't deliver costs you the review.

Write at least 250 characters, in your own words

Short descriptions read as abandoned listings. Copied ones read as spam and rank badly. Aim for 250 characters minimum of original text.

Then lead with who you help, not what you do:

- "Certified personal trainer with 8 years of experience in strength and conditioning."

- "I help busy professionals in Dubai Marina get strong again after years behind a desk. Most train twice a week around long hours and see real change in about three months."

The first describes you. The second describes the reader. Only one makes someone think that's me. Add two or three specifics about how you work — session length, how you program, whether you check in between sessions. "Results-driven" and "passionate about fitness" appear on thousands of profiles and tell a client nothing.

List every language you speak

Dubai is one of the most multilingual cities on earth, and plenty of clients would prefer to be coached in their own language.

List all of them, not just English, and be honest about level: "fluent English and Arabic, conversational French" beats a list that overpromises. This is one of the cheapest edits on this page and one of the most underused.

Say what it costs

Leaving pricing off doesn't filter out price-sensitive clients. It stops people who'd happily pay your rate from enquiring at all, because they assume the answer is more than they can afford.

The average session price on MyCoach in the UAE sits around AED 326. If you're near that, saying so costs you nothing. If you're above it, give the reason: smaller roster, specialist qualification, nutrition included. Premium pricing with a reason converts fine. Premium pricing with no explanation reads as random.

Package pricing helps too. Clients aren't buying one session, they're buying a change.

Be exact about location

MyCoach sorts search results by proximity, so your listed location decides where you appear for the people nearest you.

Be precise. Not "Dubai" but the gym, community or building. List every location you train in, state your travel radius for home visits, name the park if you coach outdoors. Vague location data means you sort badly for everyone and win nobody.

List your qualifications, then prove them

Keep it to a short credible list: your main certification and awarding body, any UAE licence, specialist qualifications relevant to the clients you want, first aid.

Then add something concrete, because nobody chooses a coach for a certificate:

"REPS-certified, plus a Level 3 in pre and postnatal training. I've worked with around 40 postnatal clients in Dubai over the last three years."

Years, numbers, client types. That reads as real.

Reply fast, every time

Everything above wins the enquiry. Your response time decides whether it becomes a client.

Fitness enquiries are impulse-driven. Someone decides on a Sunday night that this is the month, and messages three or four coaches at once. Whoever replies within the hour usually gets the booking, almost regardless of who had the better profile.

  • Turn on enquiry notifications and treat them like a cancellation, not like email
  • Reply within the hour, always the same day
  • Send a real answer: confirm you cover their area, give your rate, offer two slots
  • If you're full, say so and give a start date. That still converts
  • The ten-minute checklist
  • Eight or more photos, shot in the last year
  • Title naming your specialism or area, ideally with an offer
  • 250+ characters, written by you, in first person
  • Opening line names the client you want
  • Two or three specifics on how you work
  • Every language you coach in
  • Price visible, with a reason if it's above average
  • Exact gym, community or travel radius
  • Qualifications plus real experience
  • Notifications on, replies within the hour

The point of all this

You didn't get into coaching to write marketing copy. That's exactly why the bar is low — an hour spent on your profile puts you ahead of every coach who pasted in a CV.

Do it once, do it properly, reply quickly, then get back to the part you enjoy.
